Currently confirmed to be one of the new titles in development for the Xbox Series X, the game once again stars Senua on a journey through a hostile world based in the myths and legends of the Norse. Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II is an action adventure video game currently in development by Ninja Theory.
The story follows Senua, a Pict warrior who must defeat otherworldly beings to rescue the soul of her dead boyfriend from the goddess Hela – simple, right? Well, Senua is struggling with psychosis, which makes her an unreliable narrator and makes the gameplay disorienting – Ninja Theory made sure to work close with mental health specialists, neuroscientists, and people living with psychosis to portray it in as respectful a manner as possible. There's already a lot to love when considering how well the previous game was delivered - with only potential to build upon.The original Hellblade was lauded for its compelling plot and its innovative use of motion capture. The blend of Celtic and Nordic mythology will protrude even further - much to fan happiness. Another brilliant journey is on the horizon from what we can make of it. We expect intense environmental assets flying around combat scenes - and fluid animation to capture every expression. The hardware capabilities of the new console generation will bring Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 to life. We aren't expecting too much to change in combat and objectives, but an enhanced story paired with stunning models and visuals. Mythical auras in the locations can create challenging puzzles and the potential to unravel more of Senua's dark past. It presents surfaces that are ideal for battlegrounds. The environment is ideal against the previous mechanics.
